Guiding Principles

Primum non nocere (First, Do No Harm)

  • As a naturopathic physician, Dr. Zen believes in choosing the least invasive and least toxic treatments necessary for each patient.

Vis medicatrix naturae (The Healing Power of Nature)

  • Dr. Zen believes in working with the body not against it and recognizing the body’s inherent ability to heal itself.

Tolle Causam (Identify and Treat the Cause)

  • Dr. Zen uses diagnostic and comprehensive evaluations to identify, address and remove the underlying causes of disease.

Docere (Doctor as Teacher)

  • Educating and supporting patients on personal health management is our top priority. We believe in empowering patients to take control of their own health. Dr. Zen also values the therapeutic benefit of a strong doctor-patient relationship.

Tolle Totum (Treat the Whole Person)

  • This is a holistic concept that recognizes the body as an integrated whole. Dr. Zen believes in treating the patient as a whole, not symptoms of a disease. This why you can expect Dr. Zen to address nutritional status, lifestyle, family history, physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental and social factors during your visit.

Praevenic (Prevention)

  • We believe focus on promoting overall health, wellness and disease prevention.
